Eco friendly typeface – Apfel Brukt from Collletttivo

I love the idea of an eco-friendly typeface, created by Collletttivo – a type foundry with an ethos based on collaboration. It feels only natural that this concept would come from such an open-source foundry.

Apfel Brukt uses roughly 18% less ink than traditional typefaces, which would add up quite quickly. It’s such a simple idea to remove sections of type to create a lean and aesthetically pleasing typeface. It’s not going to change the world on it’s own, but added with other eco-conscious decisions it might just do that!
